  1. The whole question between vinyl and wood is also that vinyl looks like plastic in my mind and it looks cheap. I understand that no maintenance is a big thing buy why waist the money if it does not look good and give your house a facelift.

  2. when you buy shutters for the exteriors you can go either vinyl or wood , with the vinyl they are maintenance free , you can have them made any colous that you like for your house, with the wood you need to paint due to the paint peeling off , and the exposure to the elements. another thing that you should consider is the size of them ,you need to make them look realistic in regard of the fit, I have seen some that are way too small in comparison to the size of the window, the real shutters close to cover the whole window . It all depend if you want to have a low maintenance home or you don't mind painting , the other is a matter of cost .
