I know that the outside of the moccasins will eventually wear out, but how can I get them to last longer, or a store that makes longer lasting moccasins. I will be wearing them outside.

  1. if you plan on making your own.leather comes in differant thicknesses.get some real thick for the bottom and keep them oiled

  2. Soft leather stitched together with sinew.

If you rub bear grease or some other type of animal fat into the leather, it will become water resistant.

  3. High-quality store-bought will last longer, regardless of what they're made of, unless you are an expert at stitching. The material might make a difference, but I doubt it's a big one, as long as its strong enough to hold the stitching.

  4. I  have a pair of sealskin moccasins that once belonged to my grandfather and they are still in great condition.  Each of my children have worn them.

  5. If you are making your own, go to a tandy leather store and they will have patterns and material. f you do not have a Tandy close, you can check it out here.
