What to make of 2 men taking down plates???

this morning I was woken up to a phone call from the neighbor downstairs two white men with back packs and a clipboard were taking my mothers plates down and just looking around. I heard my door k**b turn two times and my dog barked both times when i looked no one was out there. The person did not knock but was trying to enter the house. We are good standing people with no reason for the law to be chasing us and the car payments are up to date So it all sounds weird and fishy to me???? What to make of it????

Where are you? It'd make it easier if you stated where you are. Then I'd know if what I'm telling you applies in your case. I'm in NSW, it's no use me telling you what applies in NSW when you're in Qld, WA, New York or London.

Anyhooo:

If you haven't already...call the Police now! Call 131 444, that's the number to call to report non-urgent crimes.

Did they end up taking your mother's plates? The plates could be used in a crime, they could be used to get petrol and not pay for it.

Then contact the RTA on what to do to get new plates 13 22 13. You can't drive without number plates.  

**ADD: If you're in New York all I can suggest is to call the Police asap. It'll save any problems in case the plates are used in a robbery or something else illegal.

I would report the incident to your police department.

They can't do anything about what happened to you but at least they are aware. You may not be the only people that saw something or that this happened to.

Keep an eye out for them.
