What to pack for a month in London/Oxford in July?

I am studying in Oxford for a month in July. What kind of shoes should I pack to wear for going out and during the day? What kind of clothes? Is it really hot and rainy? I really appreciate any tips! Thank you!

Check the long range weather forecast but I would pack clothes that would cover both weather types. As for what to wear smart casual will get you into most places in Oxford.

I spent a week there last July studying at Oriel College. It was pretty cold and rainy last year but the year before I heard it was extremely hot. Be prepared for all types of weather. One minute it's rainy & cold and the next the sun is out and it's warm. Bring sweatshirts and t-shirts and an umbrella. I ended up wearing a lot of capri pants & quarter-length shirts so it's cool enough and yet still can handle the cool weather.  At which college will you be staying?
