What to pack for a road trip?

1 Select the smallest bag possible to carry the items you need for your trip. If you are going to be doing a lot of walking at your destination, consider using a large backpack as a suitcase.

Step2 Pack clothes tightly into small plastic bags. Shoes should be placed facing each other heel to toe and wrapped in a separate bag.

Step3  Place wrapped clothes in the bottom of your bag or suitcase. Throw in an empty bag for future dirty laundry.

Step4 Pack medicines and first-aid supplies in one bag or compartment and toiletries in another. Put potentially leaky items in sealed plastic bags and buy travel-size versions of your toiletries when possible.

Step5 Add books and any professional materials or electronic gear you may need.

                      Tips

To save room, roll up all your clothes and pack them tightly together.



Consider packing outfits (matching tops, pants, sweaters and socks) in individual bags, so you don't have to unpack your entire suitcase each time you dress.



Avoid packing valuables in your suitcase; keep them with you in a purse or f***y pack.
