What to pack for my daughter's surgery?

My 11 year old has a major surgery coming up (scoliosis). She'll be a week in the hospital. I would love some great ideas for a goodie bag for her.

I know the basics of course of what to bring, but I was thinking what kinds of fun things can I pack? Any ideas?

  1. Magazine (pre-teen ones) , Movies for t.v , Things that she really likes ... maybe buy her  somethings and give it to her trough out the week. Like a surprise ;  one each day.

  2. Movies, magazines, maybe some facial wash wipes since personal hygene is going to be made difficult, cool slipers and socks (with rubber grippies on the bottom so she dosn't fall), candy, cards from her friends, a cool decorative pillow, movies she hasn't seen (with maybe a few old favorites thrown in the mix), and lots of friends to come visit.

If she is goning to have a private room, maybe you can decorate it with christmas lights for the nightime

  3. I know this may sound corny but coloring books and things like that.  I had surgery as a teen and I found myself bored with all the magazines and such after a couple days.  And those trivia books maybe some word finds too.

  4. I have gone through 14 surgeries... not so fun!

So I hope that your daughter will do good :)

Just bring something for her to read, write, color. Maybe video games if she play that kind of games? Board games probably.

But mostly just bring something to color and read

    good luck!!
