  1. I packed my bag the day before my baby was born the first 2 kids.  I thout it was funny like I knew it was coming subconsiously or something.  Well my 3rd baby was 3 1/2 weeks early and I had not packed at all... big regret.  I am pregnant with my last and I want to be ready like at least 1 month before the due date.  I suggest to pack (for you) shampoo and conditioner (hospital stuff is awful) and tooth payste and tooth brush.  I use the other things they give me like deoderant and stuff.  If you will be breast feeding then I would pack some button down shirts.  What a differance they can make.  I would bring some comfy clothes to come home in and remember there will be many pictures.  I always look like garbage in my pictures but I try to bring clothes that will look decent in pictures.  Oh and the camera.  I forget the camera almost every time and have to pay crazy money for the camera at the hospital.  (video camera too if you have one).  I would bring something to read just in case.  I nevr eally had the time to read anything but you nevr know.  My sister-in-law had a c-section and hard recovery and the baby had to be in that special room so he could be watched over, everything was fine with him but there was a scare for some reason.  Anyway I would bring something to read just in case.  Now for the baby I would bring a couple cute outfits.  One new born size (maybe a premie size) but they do have new born size (not 0-3 months) for new babies.  Because everything seems so big at first.  Then I would bring an outfit that is 0-3 month size just in case you have a very large baby.  Doctors and ultra sounds are not always correct on size.  Every baby I had they told me was going to be 5lbs or so.  I had an 8lb 8oz an 8lb 5oz and a 7lb 6oz (3 1/2 weeks early).  They will take a picture in the hospital so that is why I like to have options for the outfit.  If you bought a bunch of outfits already then bring a few of your favorites.  I picked out one for my daughter and then when she was born it just looked silly on her.  My husband brought me another one though.  If you don't want the baby to get used to the hospital pacifier then bring the one of your choice.  Some babies will take them all but most get hooked to one at first.  They do sell the hospital kind at the store now though because of that problem.  Bring recieving blanket to bring the baby home with.  Have the car seat installed and ready.  I don't know if it is the same everywhere but they will not let us leave the hosital until it is checked out by someone.  My husband is not good at putting the seat in and my last baby I had to go out to the car first and get it in because I was not prepared.  I can't really think of anything else you will need, they have most everything for baby there already.  Oh yeah you can bring a cd player (most hospitals) for labor.  Anything calming is good to bring for labor as well.  Also remeber if you do plan to breast feed, tell them that when you get to the hospital.  My 1st baby had a bottle first and I didn't think it would do any harm but he would not breast feed after that.  I even had specialists trying to help me and they could not get him to do it.  Then he was illergic to dairy so he threw up his first bottle and finally he took the soy bottle.  He may have rejected me because he was sick from the milk based formula that they gave him first.  Anyway I will never make that mistake again as I love breast feeding my children.  Good luck with everything, I hope you have an easy labor.  Have fun with baby, not too long now.

    *maternity pads

    *toiletries

*formula if u decide to bottle feed and a bottle

    *change of clothes and pyjamas

*clothing for bub and a nappy 2 take him home in
