I'm traveling to the UK soon! Yea! :)

What's the average temperature in the UK in Sept.? Obviously I need to pack an umbrella. But, what about a jacket? Heavy jacket or light? Long or short-sleeved shirts?

Thanks!

  1. by september the weather is so unpredictable..its sometimes rainy sometimes sunny, the weather here is always unpredictable but because its the begining of autumnits probably worst

you might want to take a raincoat, by raincoat i mean a quite thin one but on a pack-in-a-bag style one, they just won't cut it, try berghaus coats, then attach a fleece underneath, then when the temperature does change you can take out the fleece or put it in

try trousers with cut of bottoms so you can turn them into shorts

short sleeved tops would be fine with light cardigans etc..

also it really depends on where you're going in the uk, theres so many different places, london theres alot of indoors so you wouldn't need a really heavy raincoat but in the lakedistrict you would need really sturdy shoes, hope i helped

  2. Average temperature is more of a concept than a reality in the U.K., especially in early Autumn. Also, the temperature can be amazingly variable on the same day in different places. Central London, the Yorkshire Dales and the top of Ben Nevis all call for rather different dressing. Take plenty of layers, and be prepared to shed/add them on a daily basis. Expect rain. Hope for sun.

  3. London and areas down south  are generally warmer thanthe rest of the country, but you should defiantely pack for both cold and warm weather - it's impossible to know - honestly!
