Hi I'm a DIY gal and looking for information for painting concrete planters? I have 3 to paint & they are very heavy, close to if not 100lbs. Two of them are kinda odd looking with pebbles in corners & concrete in center of each side. The person I got them from said her grandma had painted them white at one time. The paint is gone except for a tiny bit still on them. I have looked on a few sites for info but they were not too much help. I do know a few painting techniques as far as faux & antiquing . I want to create something beautiful at the end of my drive way. Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks!

  2. Remove any flaking paint and just use exterior latex.

  3. Take off the existing paint and treat with a masonry stabiliser solution. Leave for 1 hour and then apply a second coating. After 24 hours apply with a brush masonry paint with or without texture finish. Travis Perkins sell their own brand fairly cheaply.
