What to play with a 4yr old boy?

i need to know what to play with a 4yr old boy!!!!

remeber that four year old boys might want to play rough.

just remeber that they would like to take control.

so just try to play what HE wants to play.

but still make restrictions if things get to routy.

if he cant think of anything to play with.

try outdoor soccer,memory games,twister,video games,healthy snacks,baking cookies.

there are alot of things to do.

My nephew liked to play "animals"- just pick any animal, and pretend to be it. There you go! :)

Coloring books, picture books, nature walks, going to the park (little kids LOVE this), coloring with chalk, hide and seek

All the ideas here are good ones.  Keep in mind that it's also how you play and the things you are teaching him throughout your time together.

Take turns- it's not always his turn- be sure to take your turn, games are great for teaching turns.

Talk about what is around him- his environment.  Go for a walk and see if he can pick out his house.  Talk about what street he lives on.  Work on memorizing his telephone number.  Reinforce colors "You are wearing blue pants today"  "This apple is really red", etc.  This will help him make sense of the world around him.  

Baking cookies helps him learn about a process-first we do this, then this, etc. It teaches about measuring, and making something and waiting for the results (yum!).

Let him do things for himself and make him be responsible.  Zip his own jacket as much as he can, pick up the toys with him, don't litter, hang up your clothes, dirty dishes in the sink or dishwasher, etc.  This is how little kids grow up to be nice and not a pain in the neck.
