Question:

What to put on a resume for a cafe?

A local bakery/cafe is hiring. I asked for an application, and she asked me to bring in a resume.

What should I put on it? What should I leave out? I have a resume based on my previous dance and teaching dance experience, but it seems rather off-topic.

Should I put why I want to work there?

I do have work experience in restaurants to put on it, but should I also put extracurricular activities and school related things?

  1. You shouldn't tell people more than they need to know. Some activities or (extracurricular) activities may not even effect your chances of being accepted.

My personal belief would be to only include things which would solely effect your job. Include the positives, how you can benefit the place, etc...

Just think about it, do you think if you had a 4.0 GPA, vs. somebody with a 2.5 GPA, they'd select you? I'd think it doesn't matter, but that's my personal belief.

    Good luck
