What to say if I call out sick?

I need to take a day off tomorrow. I work part-time at a grocery store and I go into work at 3pm. I need to fake sick or something but don't know what to say. I don't want to say something stupid that they wouldn't believe but I don't want to say something that makes it look obvious that I'm faking. What should I say?

Tell the truth and take the day off without pay if you need to. A guilty conscience will always betray you and you will be found out.

Tell them you have a family problem and must stay home.
