  1. Depends....

Close family, tell them the truth if you know the answer.  If they keep pressing ask them when will they have another?

Anyone else, just politely say, we'll discuss it when the time is right

    or

    not this week

    or

why do you wanna be our surrogate?

or turnt he question around somehow, like....

when did you know the time was right?

try to be polite but if rude people don't take the hint just get clever and a little sarcastic.   I like the puppies comment a few answers above ;)

  2. Depends...are you?  If not, then simply say, "not today" and leave it at that.  If you are at some point, then say "it's in our 5-year (or 10 or 15- year) plan" with a laugh.  Another good trick for this (or any nosy question) is to ask the nosy-body "why do you ask?"  Chances are, they'll realize they're prying with no good intention and change the subject, or if they do come up with a reason (vaild or otherwise) it gives YOU something to guide the subject toward!

  3. Say "as soon as I know I'll be sure to let you know"

  4. I will have them when I'm 100% ready to raise kids.

  5. Say, "I may, why"? Then ask them a very personal and private question about themselves. Oh and don't forget to smile.

  6. How about, "I haven't decided yet on whether to have children or puppies!"

  7. Well I am 27 and I get this all the time- I just say to them- I will have them when the time is right-- the timing is just not right yet.

  8. "What possible business is that of yours?"
