I would like to start a new business (My first business). I would like to sell clothes and shoes and maybe a few other items but I need to know how should i go about obtaining my product. How do i ask a company to sell me there product for my store? I know this probably sound dumb but i don't to just send them an email saying " Hi , I am opening a new store and i would like to sell some of your products." or is that all i really need to do?

  1. It may be as simple as what you stated. All you can do is ask them if they would like to let you sell their product. All they can do is say no. Sit down and write out how you want to approach them, Then give them a call or write them a well written letter explaining why you want to sell their products and would they be willing to let you do so. Explain where you plan on selling and why you belive their product is right for you. Always remember it never hurts to ask.

    Good Luck

  2. Just be honest with them. Perhaps the company gives you an answer that you do not like but at least you know where you stand. Also don't let one critic shatter your dreams. It takes hard work and dedication to start a business and it won't happen over night as you may already know. Good luck.
