My dad is going to Iraq in one week and I am trying to give him things to do in his down time. He is not a soldier but a trainer working for Dyncorp Inc. he will be Training Iraqi Police. He usally works only about 5 hours a day so he has alot of bored time. I want to send him stuff to let him do and to remind him of us at home.

  1. Just make sure you don't send anything illegal (p**n, alcohol) or anything under pressure. Also, when it is hot, make sure it won't melt. Other than that, just try to send things that you know he likes but can't get over there. A favorite snack, his favorite magazines, books, etc.

  2. I have been putting together care packages for my boyfriend for almost a year now.  Some of the stuff he liked the best was the stuff that is 'atypical'.  I have sent squirt guns, a paper airplane how to book with plenty of fun colored paper, footballs, soccer balls, silly putty, playdoh (believe me I thought it was a little odd...the guys loved it), Frisbees. Really anything that will take their mind off of work and where they are is absolutely appropriate.  Good luck and I wish your Dad well.

  3. Your favorite pictures make copies. Laptop, music players, game players, books if he likes to read. I wish him the best and thank him for what he is doing for us and I thank you for supporting him. It's the love the soldiers get from home that make it all worth while.

  4. pictures, a laptop, candy

  5. sunglasses

  6. i have a cousin over there and he said they can always use socks, and anything that smells good.

i guess a bunch of men together in the hot sun sweating isn't the greatest smell lol
