My son is having a party at the local movie theater (5pm weeknight), they will supply a fridge and microwave.

Im not sure what to feed the children, besides pizza.

I would like to do something a little different that they will all love.

I also can bring food into the private movie showing but not anything the theaters serve.. which I assume discludes popcorn.

Any ideas on movie snacks also?

  1. cream puffs and chocolate eclairs. those things are so good.  my kids love them.

  2. chips, candy that has alot of lard in it. (makes me sleepy, :))

and lots and lots of video games!

  3. Depends. . . some people are REALLY picky about what goes into their childrens' mouths.  Maybe make some cookies, cupcakes, or take some chips.  Is there going to be a birthday cake? OR you can take some fruits (really! I've been to birthday parties with apples, bananas, grapes, and stuff and the kids look just as happy as they would with chocolate, sugar, etc. that makes them run around everywhere! lol).  Maybe, some fruit SNACKS.  You know the little s****.-Doo ones, or the Veggie Tales ones.  There's plenty to choose from, and they taste great. :)

  4. What's to worry about.  Kids love pizza.  Later for a snack, juice and an ice cream cake.

Could you please have vanilla and chocolate ice cream cake?  That's my favorite.

  5. How bout some icee pops and hotdogs! deffinetly a hit! And easy to make but different then Pizza! Kids Luv em!

  6. chips; cheetos; goldfish; & basically a bunch of snacks. that was my favorite stuff when i was little because you didn't have to sit down and get a plate & eat it.

  7. Maybe some cute ice cream characters on a stick.

  8. Definitely finger foods or something easy to manage like pizza because they have little fingers and a "taco bar" would be waaaaay too messy! Hmmmm....

Go to Sams or Costco and see what they have. Off the top of my head, you could buy some dippables like taquitos or fried ravioli squares, or think of potato skins, wraps, wings or sandwiches. Veggie/fruit trays are good.

Movie theme...Can you tie your food to the type of movie you'll be seeing? For example, if it's Shrek (I know this isn't it) you could serve gingerbread cookies or green foods.

Try to come up with a theme and center your foods and gift bags around that.

    Good luck!

  9. If you want them to have a meal try happy meals. If they are eating during the movie it's easier then trying to hand out pizza slices.

  10. Good Luck for a 6 year old boy or girl bring happy with that.  I know you try but... BORING!  It would be a 10yr old birthday at best.  Try the boys at the park / beach with some games and a sausage sizzle or a backyard party with 'reptile man'!
