I have an old copy of the Century Model Rocket Design Manual - MRDM for short on my website follow the link and it wil take you to the file page.  From there you can download the file under MRDM.

Read it carefully.  It will tell you exactly what you are wanting to learn.  Not much has changed in 40 odd years.  Other than this - buy some white glue (elmers) and a model rocket kit and start building!  There are many books out there like the "Handbook of Model Rocketry" by G. Harry Stine which cost $25.00 for the same information, but this condensed version will let you know if you really want to pursue rocketry as a hobby.  Good luck with your first flight.
