What to take to someone in the hospital

my bfs mom is staying for 3 weeks in the hospital with his dad, she cannot even leave him to come home. I am going again to visit her this weekend, and I wanted to take her something to do while she is there.

Any ideas, I was thinking magazines and crosswords but I cant think of anything else.

if u had like a nintendo ds alot of people even adults get alot of fun out of them!! u could borrow it to her for a while...also maybe a ipod r sumthing....music can really pass the time!!! r a portable dvd player!!!! they are def good for passing the time!!!

For starters, figure out what sort of thing might work so you don't get something that does not get used. Ask her. Other possibilities are those eye masks that some people wear on airplanes in order to sleep. You might want to offer to do her laundry (or at least take it to her house), bring in home-cooked food, offer to do chores at her house, or just spell her for a while at the hospital so she can go out and get a cup of coffee and have a change of scenery. It's nice that you are thinking about her this way. Very thoughtful.

What does she like doing?  A best seller?  Yes, magazines and puzzle books?  Sewing kit?

If i were you (witch i'm not so its up to you)i would take her a sandwich or 2 a big drink and a Cross word puzzle,word search and/or a get well soon card and balloon for her husband then she will fill full happy and not alone .
