I live in San Diego, Pacific Beach area, and every summer it seems like thousands of young Irish people come and spend the summer in San Diego, especially in PB. Is San Diego a real popular destination for young people in Ireland? What do you think of SD?

  1. too much military in san diego

there is el toro naval air base in north

    pendelton marine base

    miramar

    coronado island

It seems most people are employed in "defense" industry

the weather is nice if you able to get to the beach and not stuck in the endless traffic

juanitas#1 in encinitas has the best carne asada burritos!

  2. Ahh Shaun, having lived here for the past 3 years, I can tell you what this Irish bloke thinks. The weather is absolutely fabulous, you get more sunshine in a month then we get in a year (in Letterkenny anyway).

I will miss that. I will also miss all the things you can do in San Diego or very close by. Actually one of my fun things to do is to walk from Silver Pier to the Roller coaster and back, the scenery is candy to the eye. But you probably know that.

What I will not miss is the traffic, the smelly air (even on good days) and the humongous crowds wherever you go (reminds me of Dublin) a place which is nice to see but that is about it.

In short, San Diego is a magnificent place to visit and I will miss it, but it is also nice to go  back home.

  3. first thing that comes to mind is blink182 lol, then lotsa beaches and sun-I'd kill to go there, looks amazing...
