  1. I came from Ft. Jackson, but most basic is the same.

Know the Soldiers Creed. They nailed that into my head... I swear I say it in my sleep.

But to help with your running, do 60/120's... you run for 60sec then walk for 120 sec and keep going for about a 1/2 hour or so. It may not seem like it at first, but it really helps. (you can also do 30/60's)

    Good Luck-

  2. Running a mile a day might be a good idea. But, why not relax and enjoy the rest of the summer.Don;t worry about it. The drill instructors there are among them best.  They'll give you all the training you need.

While officially, it is "Fort Leonard Wood" those who have been there will forever remember it as "Fort Lost in the Woods."

  3. This article on surviving Army basic training has a lot of info.

Also this web site has tips to improve your exercise requirements. Run a farther distance.

    Good luck.

  4. You have the right idea, run, do pushups (find someone who knows the right FORM so that you are doing it right) and situps.  Learn the ranks, all of them, before you go.  Just keep running.  If you are young you can run every day for training purposes, but practice the TWO mile run and keep doing pushups and situps.  The PT test is the run, pushups, situps, so in the end that's all that really matters.  Form on the pushups is huge, so again, make sure you are doing them right, all the way up, all the way down every time.
