Question:

What to use to carry my figure skates?

I am trying to come up with a few creative options to carry my figure skates around in. I have seen Zucas, Vera Bradley duffel, Jansport duffel, and things like that. What do you prefer? Pros, cons? Also, does anyone know where you can get somewhat discounted Zucas? Only serious and helpful answers please. Thanks!

  1. I use a ice skating bag. It has room for each skate, my socks, and gloves., plus it's pretty cute. Here is a the link.

  2. Zuca bags

    pros:  different designs

              sturdy

              usage as a bench

              lots of pockets

cons: small space just for skates

             expensive

    Duffel bags

    pros: lots of space

    cons:  skates move around

things can move around in it

I have used suitcase, duffel, and regular sports bag.

They all worked for me, but now i just use a bag that looks like a zuca, but it's actually a knitting carrier. lots of room and pockets.

  3. I do vera bradley duffel. Zucas are expensive so i wouldnt reccomend doing a zuca. Vera brdley duffles are great though, because you can keep a ton of things in them!!!

  4. try a garbage bag it's cheap and reuseable.

  5. try an ll bean or new balance duffel

everyone at my rink uses them

  6. Zucas can be pretty expensive. If you really want one then here are the pros and cons http://figureskating.about.com/od/access...

I personally use a normal 21" suitcase. It has lots of pockets and works great. You could probably even get away with a smaller one.

I sometimes just use a plain old Jansport backpack and everything fits and it is smaller and easy to carry. http://jansport.com/js_product_detail.ph...

  7. zuca

Pro: wheels, titanium (less weight), lasts long, sit on it, change inserts, more pockets,

con: everyone has them, easily mistaken if you have popular colors (black, pink), bigger (mass wise), if you stop then what do you do with it?

    but, i like it :D

i know im not quitting cause i skate so much. and i got random colors that almost nobody has,

  8. I have a Zuca bag too.  It's okay....it's a nice alternative to the suitcases that everyone uses, but it's limited on space.  The large compartment is nice to carry your skates upright and secure, but there isn't much other room for larger things like rulebooks, CD cases and more than a few pairs of gloves.  There are a bunch of pockets, but the more you shove in the sides, the farther it "intrudes" upon the space for your skates.  It's sort of heavy to be tossing in the trunk of your car all the time and can be awkward in other maneuvering situations.  I got irritated that it would tip over frequently when unstable.

In my years of skating, I've used all sorts of stuff to carry my junk around.  Duffel bags, backpacks, suitcases, Zucas and on and on.  I think the duffel type bag just works the best.  There's usually a big enough compartment to put your skates and larger items and smaller places to keep smaller things, like gloves, legwarmers, etc.  They're a little less awkward to get around with because they typically have a shoulder strap.

My Zuca's taking a break for now, but here's what I'm currently using and really happy with :)..........

  9. zuca bags, and i simply use a rebok bag from *****, they come in pretty colors (pink, light blue, green, etc.) and are very durable.

  10. Zuca

  11. It doesn't really matter what you use to carry your skates, my hands have always worked fine for me. But I wuld recommend a Zuca bag if you think that you want to get something.

  12. You should really get Zuca bags. They are the most practical bags you can get.

    Cons:

      Very Heavy

      Expensive

    Pros:

      Very Practical

Very Strong (able to carry a lot of weight)

      Really nice (designs)

You can get cheaper ones 2nd hand but I suggest that u buy new ones because 2nd hands are not really good unless u are 100% sure that they are new. Also, as far as I know, almost every store has the same price for zuca bags.
