What to wear for Halloween?

This will be the 2nd Halloween party I have gone to in my life. I want to get an awesome costume, not the usual witch or whatever. I am 32 years old, 5'2 and not really fat but I do have some weight on me. My boyfriend will be going also so I want something that will stick out, be really nice- any ideas? Please don't be mean.

i'm trying to think of what i've seen but I can't really think of anything original at the moment so here are some ideas..completely off the top of my head.

-doctor and nurse

-greek gods..zeus and hera, aphorodite and ares

--tennis players

-peach and mario (hahahah) from nintendo

-those guys from waynes world

-hair metal rockers

-sunny and cher

hmmmm...

wait did you want to do a costume with your bf??

If you and your boyfriend are really brave and prepared to have a laugh, you should swap gender roles for your costumes, you'll have fun and get plenty of attention if you really go all out for the costumes.  You could go as a gangster in a trouser suit, hat and dark glasses, and your boyfriend could be your "moll", he'll need a wig, lots of make-up, high heels and a sparkly dress.

You can be a phony executive secretary: old professional suit, a toy lap top computer and a dark or brown light old briefcase with blank papers, toy cell phone, high heel shoes, the hair in a bun [if you have long hair], pencil or pen in hair, dark round glasses and look rather frumpy. What do you say? No "angel" or "witch". Be creative. I was a spy some Halloweens ago: fedora hat, dark business shoes, white shirt, dark necktie, dark trench coat, fake glasses and mustache and fake pistol, similar to a European Baretta, but just only a toy. I won second price.
