  1. well it depends on your style etc.

but its the coldest part of the year here so,

    for casual;

you see guys wearing jeans jeans and jeans.

    lol

and just t-shirts or long sleeves with jackets. or hoodies.

also coats, and gloves and scarves, sometimes.

nighttime, it matters what you are doing,

if you are bumming around, its the same as above.

if you go out to dinner etc...

dark jeans and shirt and suit jacket or nice jacket..

if you are seriously relaxing, grab the trackies.

    =)

but yeah, just think jeans, basically.

its usually between 8 and 14 degrees during the day, and colder at night, rarely below 0 though.

    have fun!

  2. Simply put, it'll be cold.

Bring a warm jacket and a beanie. Mornings will be freezing. Layers are a good idea.

  3. Don't worry about it getting hot - it won't. In July it will be very cold and probably wet as well. Make sure you have a good warm jacket with a hood for casual and for going over your footy gear. If you can borrow a warm smart jacket for night time, do that. They're too expensive to buy for a week and in Bribane, you'll never wear one that's warm enough for Melbourne in July.

Apart from that, layers of Brisbane clothes should be enough plus some gloves. You won't feel like a dork when your fingers are numb with the cold.

And a hint... Always take a spare full set of undies when you're umpiring. You WILL get wet and you will need to change from the skin out.

Enjoy the championships - you must be a pretty good umpire to get that gig.

  4. In July it will be absolutely freezing in Melbourne, especially if you're used to a warm climate. It's not literally freezing however, so just make sure you wear a singlet under your shirt, and a jacket over your shirt. (with long pants obviously)

  5. Melbourne is a strange place weather wise. Generally speaking, I advise layers. A beanie, coat or jacket and warm socks are a good idea especially if you are out at night. However, it could be any type of weather. It could be rainy cold and grey. It could be sunny and warm in the middle of the day and bitterly cold and foggy in the mornings until 11am. It could be cool and dry, or humid and breezy. It could go thriought several changes in a day or it might be the same the entire week. But the locals wear layers, if you are too warm take some off. Just make sure you have enough layers because being too cold is misery. It could easily be below 5 degrees at night, it's unlikely to be warmer than 24 degrees by day. Night range about 2 degrees to 12 degrees, day range from maybe 13 degrees to 25 degrees. Most probably more in the middle  but in Melbourne, anything can happen! It could be T-shirt weather but more likely to be singlet shirt jumper weather...

  6. Layers .. .layers are best in Melbourne because as you know the weather can change greatly.

have a jacket or a coat that can be worn over long sleeved things and also short sleeved  things...

Don't buy a few bulky things ... they will make you too hot ... if you wear layers you can strip off as you need to or place back on.

Congrats on getting to umpire the under 12 national Champs.
