What to wear in muay thai?

see, i dont know exactly what to wear during muay thai sessions. is it ok to wear a shirt during a fight? what is the official dress code in muay thai? does every gym follow that dress code?? will i ever be eliminated if i dont follow the dress code? pls pls pls....help me.

talk to your trainer and ask him this. It varies from place to place. As for oil... there is usually vasilin put on the face on the fighter  before the fight. This is so the leather gloves don't stick to the face and rip skin during the fight.

Where are you training?  If not in Thailand then your coach can answer all those questions for you.

Typically, in Thailand, you wear no shirt or shoes.  Depending, you may not wear gloves (though I think most Muay Thai schools are putting gloves on the kiddos to protect their hands).

Official dress code is shorts.  Either blue or red, depending on your corner.  In Muay Thai, one boxer will be in red trunks with white trim the other will be in blue trunks with white trim.

I would tell you, if you are fighting MT, and see no one else with a shirt on, then strip down.

Don't worry about the oil, just use vasoline on your face and forehead, you'll be fine.
