~ Cover-ups (something to wear over swimsuits)

I'm 13 and can wear tank-tops but no tubetops unless they have a shrug on something covering my shoulders.(Unless is swim-suit or cover-up thing than its okay! but not like a tube top to do activities in) Thanks! Please help!

  1. Its stupid not to tell us such basic information such as where the heck your cruise is going to be. I mean its a big big world and RCCL cruises goes every where nowadays!

But here is some basic advices for a carebian cruise:

The first thing youll need is swim suites and gears (ofc).

Then you probly need something like tshirt and shorts to dress yourself in when youre in the windjammer or main dining room for lunch (no swimgears there!).

The next thing youre gonna need is clothes for being outside but not in youre swimsuits like shorts and shoes and tshirts and so on. Also bring sports cloths if youre into that, after all there is most likely a sports court and a climbing wall on your ship...

Apart from that you will need dresses for evening. Bring what you normaly would take for a visit to an downtown reasturant. But dont forget to bring your finest cloths for the formal nights.

As you see the rules given on the homepage isnt stupid at all. Its just you who cant "read it" propably... Have fun on your cruise! Johan.

  2. I've sailed RC a # of times.  Swimsuits of course for the pool.  Shorts and t-shirt or tube top around the ship during the day and anytime on shore.  For dinner, if you go to the main dining room you will need to dress a bit nicer.  No shorts, no cutoffs and no tube tops in the main dining room.  Try a sun dress or tasteful slacks and shirt.  There will also be at least one formal night.  A dress is expected.

  3. Don't know what to tell you if you think the answers the cruise line gives you are "stupid".

You'll need swimsuits for pool/hot tub activities, shorts/tops for "hanging out" and for shore excursions, nice casual clothes for dinner [not shorts or jeans], and "formal" clothes for the formal dinners [i.e. what you'd wear to a wedding would probably get you by].  If you don't want to dress up for dinner, you can always go to the buffet.

You can find discussions on this topic at CruiseCritic.com, if you're interested.  Click on "Boards", then go to the Royal Caribbean board and browse, or go to "Cruise Fashions".

    Have a good time.

  4. Heyy! Im going on a royal carribean cruise too! I thought there answers were really stupid and aimed more for adults. Heres my plan:

Casual: Denim shorts and like a babydoll or tshirt

Swimming: Swim suit? lol and amer. eagle has cute coverups

Parties: Like a short dress with leggings or denim skirt w/ cute shirt

Casual Dinner: Same thing as party

Formal Dinner: Dress (not like prom but cute) maybe a sundress

Sightseeing: Same as casual pretty much

    Coverups: coverups? lol

email me at xcheerleader19x@yahoo.com and ill give u some ideas of outfits after u tell me wat stores u like

    hope i helped

  5. I'm 13 too, and my name is Ali. I have been on 2 almost 3 Royal Caribbean cruises and 1 Holland America. For casual day clothes, you could probably just wear shorts and t-shirts, but not the cheapo t-shirts that have your highschool on them. Take like the kind from American Eagle or something. You could also wear tank tops. Most of the time though, I would say you would be wearing you're bathing suit with clothes or a cover up on top of it. For a bathing suit, take anything, but take a cover up too. For the teen parties, they are usually at night and stuff. you can just wear what you wore to dinner. For casual dinner, maybe wear a sun dress or some nice capris, a skirt and a nice top. For formal dinner, I guess just wear what you would wear for a wedding. For sightseeing, just wear casual comfortable clothes. Just don't worry about it. People don't care what you wear. you're on vacation. Relax and have fun.
