What to wear to Matt Bourne's Edward Scissorhands stage production? (Ballet / Dance Theatre)?

I'm taking a friend to the Edward Scissorhands stage adaptation by Matt Bourne - a ballet/dance show in Melbourne. Never been to anything like this so just wondering what the expected dress is for an event like this? (male and female).

To a ballet (especially Matthew Bourne's!) men would wear a nice button down with slacks and dress shoes and women would  wear a nice dress and heels. Think of dressing nice for an expensive evening dinner, except you don't need a suit suit jacket or tie, unless you like to get dressed to a T.
