What to wear to a september wedding?

I am totally clueless, the wedding invitation gave no hints of what to wear, its seems pretty formal. I always have a hard time finding a dress and shoes. Can anyone help?

I'm really short, about 5ft and I really don't want to stand out at the wedding or outshine the bride.

It is going to depend on what time of day it is...and if it is outdoor or indoor.

The later in the day, normally, the lower the heem line.

Any color is fine...except white..you don't want to wear white to a wedding...that is saved for the bride.

The best thing to do would be to just wear a simple black dress with like a red belt or a yellow belt or something like that with toned down shoes.

Don't worry, whatever you choose will never 'outshine' the bride - lol
