What to wear to an interview when your 14 weeks pregnant?

I don't have an interview set up but I'm going on Monday to fill out applications at general jobs like Target, Joann's Fabric and I'm also going to scope out the malls for any open positions. I really don't have any dress clothes having been a stay at home mom for 2 years. I'm just looking to have a part time job for the holidays to bring in some extra cash to help out.

Nothing fits me right now, as I am in between my regular clothing and the maternity clothing that I have. I do have a pair of khaki colored pants that I can wear if I fold the belly band down over my hips but they aren't super fit in the butt area. Is this something that I could pull off with a longer shirt? I really don't want to go out and purchase anything I don't have to, although a blouse might be in order.

Can anyone give me any tips on what kind of shirt to wear to wear with these pants? What about shoes?

  1. I would wear a long loose black shirt, luckily the maternity type shirts are in style! A black shirt would look nice with those pants, and just a simple single color flip flop should be fine, since it is Summer. Good luck!

  2. I think a new outfit or at least a new blouse would be a wise investment for future job interviews.  Just try things on and wear something you look really good on.  There's a lot of popular styles right now that can disguise a growing belly.  I wear maternity and show i was pregnant until about 6-7 months along.

  3. It really depends on your style, but I would go through your closet and try and find a long shirt to go with your khaki pants- something white would look fresh and clean. As far as shoes, I would wear something that is comfortable but cute- like a pair of loafers or flats. Good luck!
