Question:

What to wear to my boyfriend's sister's summer wedding?

My boyfriend and I are traveling to British Columbia from New York City early August for his little sister's wedding. The ceremony and reception will take place at Harrison Hot Springs -- a very nice resort. The wedding is midday, and the reception begins at 5:30. Any suggestions on appropriate attire? And do I need a wardrobe change between ceremony and reception (they're 5 hrs apart)?

I'm a newbie on the wedding scene...

Thanks so much.

  1. the more formal, the better.  It sounds like it will be a formal wedding.  5:30 is in the evening, and you can bet that a lot of people will be dressed in their best attire.

  2. try dillards.com...they have a large selection of dresses for special occasions.  if you have a dillards store in your area, they usually have better sales than online. also macy's has lots of cute things. i wouldnt worry about changing but you can. i am sure some will, but everyone wont. you should be fine as long as you dont wear white

  3. Follow this link hone and search 4 wat u need and yes ur gonna need a wardrobe change. If the wedding and the reception is that far apart in time my best guess is that everybody attending the wedding..including the bride and groom is gonna change. My gosh that enough time to go home..cook..eat n sleep.

  4. Wear a pretty cocktail dress like this

    or more formal like this

and maybe buy a shawl for the night time.  The reception will be in doors so I don't think you will need to change.

-Don't wear anything that is too reviling and you shouldn't wear white.  If you can find out what the bridesmaids are wearing it could heap as you don't want to wear the same color...

    Good Luck :)
