What do people in cities wear to plays? I've never been to a real play before. I'm from a small town and I don't want to look like a hillbilly. However, we're going to be walking around the city all day before that, and it's supposed to be cold and snowy, which means muck and salt all over your shoes/pants and dressing for the weather. I don't have any good boots. So what do people wear to plays, and if it is dressier than just jeans, how can I manage to look nice after being outside all day but still stay warm? By the way, I am a 22-year-old female.

  1. wear somthing dressy but comfy anything that fits your personality will do

  2. Not a black dress and point hat.

    LOL, sorry couldn't resist.

I would just wear something nice, dress slacks and a nice shirt. Doesn't have to be over the top, noone will be watching you. If it is snowwy wear whatever will keep your feet dry.

Great show, hope you enjoy it. You can always carry a change of clothes with you.

  3. People don't dress up for plays the way they use to. Back in the day, a woman wouldn't dream of wearing anything but her best evening wear and lots of jewels. But now you can wear whatever you want. So wear you jeans and a comfy sweater and snow boots and enjoy. It can get stuffy in a theater so I suggest dressing in layers. Make sure you have a t-shirt on under your sweater in case you need to remove layers.  Have fun!
