Tomorrow I have an interview to be a waitress at a seafood restaurant on a pier that I've never been to. I've e-mailed back and forth with the manager and she asked me to come in "after 5pm"...when should I show up? And what should I wear? I don't know what the staff wears yet. Thanks.

  1. I would show up at 5:10-5:15. Generally, when people say after 5:00, they don't mean anytime after 5:30 (otherwise they would just say 5:30).

For a restaurant interview I would wear nice black pants and a blouse. Really depends on the restaurant, you didnt really say if it was fine dining or not...

  2. Show up at 10 or 15 after. Even if you wait a while it looks extremely good on you. It shows that you are reliable and eager to have the job. Dress semi-casual, not extremely nice unless it is a ritzy restaurant which it doesn't sound that way. Good luck!

  3. you should always look professional for any interveiw, even if its for mcdonalds. if you want to look smart wear a grey suit. but if you dont want to look "over-done" then wear a lighter colored blouse with dark blue jeans, tis way you still look professional. dont over do youre makeup. you dont want to look trampy. remember to smile, and wear a watch so they notice you keep track of time.

  4. Don't even worry about it a little bit.   You could never guess the perfect outfit to wear.  If they have 20 people interviewing for the job it doesn't matter what you wear. If you are the only person , it especially doesn't matter... you are getting the job.  Wear a smile.  That works best.  .

  5. wear a nice conservative dress, or a nice blouse and skirt set, look professional

  6. I would wear dress slacks and a button down shirt, you can never go wrong with that. I would also show up more around 5 since most restaurants start getting their "rush" shortly after.

  7. Conservative. A little goes a long way... so say, nicely groomed hair, a nice button down shirt (I feel like you can never go wrong with white, clean and crisp!) and a pair of light khackies (spelling? lol)

Go light on the makeup and wow them with your personalities. Ask a few questions and flash that smile girl!

  8. I would wear a nice casual pair of slacks and matching blouse.

  9. Something similar to this. you can wear trousers with this or a skirt.. that would be nice for an interview.. it has to be professional..  you don't need to wear a skirt. what you prefer.. trousers or skirt.. but something along those lines as on this picture would be appropriate.. it's just a guideline.. you don't have to imitate this exact style only to give you an idea.. and good luck for the interview..!
