  1. A set of scales.

    27 grams = 1 ounce


  2. A gram is a unit of mass.

    You need to weigh it (on earth), or mass it on another planet if you must.

    a gram is a relatively small unit of measure (compared to pounds and kilograms which people are weighed in) so an ordinary house scale won't work.

    You need either a triple-beam balance or a small digital scale.  These can both be very accurate, digital being the best, but can cost about $100
