  1. Well, I just go off work and as I am looking at my belt sitting on the chair, let me start at the buckle and work my way around to the left.

Brass buckle (pain to keep polished)

    Two spare magazines

    Taser, in holster

    Nightstick ring, nightstick in locker

Radio holder, radio in charger on desk microphone hanging off it.

Streamlight "Stinger" flashlight in holder (should be in charger)

    OC Spray in case

    Two sets handcuffs in cases

    ASP Baton in plastic case

    Sig P226 in .357 Sig

And four "keepers" straps to keep the Sam Brown Belt attached to the trouser belt.

    Other things in pockets

    Lockpic set

    Leatherman multitool

    Pen/notebook

Kel-Tec 9mm pistol in hidden holster

    LED flashlight

    Yea its alot of stuff.

  2. Pistol, spare magazines for the pistol, pepper spray, collapsible baton, tazer, handcuffs, keys, radio, cell phone, gloves, badge (some don't wear their 'tin' on their shirts)

  3. It depends on the department how they configure their belt, but the usual is a baton, OC spray, cuffs, cuff key/car keys, holster, 40mm glock, flashlight, spare mags, walkie talkie, gloves (both exam gloves and leather gloves). Some departments also carry a tazer and extra taser cartridges.

  4. Well, let's see. On my belt I have spare pistol magazines, duty weapon and holster, exam gloves, handcuffs, radio, Taser, spare flashlight and O.C. spray. I keep an auto knife in my pocket and a back-up weapons somewhere on my person :). Other things like my Stinger flashlight, second pair of cuffs and ASP Baton I keep in my squad bag.

I just carry the basics that I need on my belt to prevent stress on my lower back since I'm not as young as I used to be! I've noticed most younger guys(and gals!) seem to cram just about everything they can on their belts. It all depends on where you work, you have the basic things that you need and extras that are suitable to where you patrol.

  5. Donuts, Snickers bars, and Reese's pieces.

Oh - and three or four tasers.

  6. It depends on the jurisdiction and the specialty assignment of the officer:

The standard equipment would be: a baton (either straight, side-handle, or collapsible), a firearm (anything from .38 revolver to semi-automatic), handcuffs, keys, extra magazines or speedloaders, radio, pepper spray, belt keepers (they hold the belt to the pants belt).

Some of the extra equipment could include: pens, gloves, portable CPR mask, taser, (Highway) pouch holding summons book, extra handcuffs, a back-up firearm, flexcuffs (those are those white plastic ties), gas mask, (Emergency Service/SWAT) scissors, tape, heavy duty gloves, window punch/seatbelt cutter combo tool.

Over the years, Officers learn to be prepared for anything: I carry a cigarette lighter/matches, a mouthpiece (to demonstrate how to provide breath samples for DWI), a whistle, plastic baggies (for evidence), brown paper bags (also for evidence), tweezers (for removing evidence).
