  1. a hammer the bigger the better.

  2. I used to install pool tables for a Brunswick dealer.  to start, there are bolts that go from the rails through the slate and are tightened on the bottom side of the slate.  you should be able to see them from underneath the table along the edges, a socket wrench works best to remove the bolts.  Once the bolts are removed you and a partner should be able to lift the rails off of the table, they usually come apart in two halves.  next, the felt is either glued or stapled around the edges, if you are going to reuse the cloth take care in removing it, if not just rip it off.  once the cloth is removed there will be large screws holding the slate down, some people putty the screws in so you may have to chip the putty out and remove the screws.  carefully lift the slate off of the table and move, be carefull slate is very brittle and the slightest bump can brake or crack it.  if you would like to disassemble the table anymore you can take the legs off and so-on.  These instructions are for most home tables.  if you have an old bar style table you will need help from someone else.  If you have any other questions you can email me at kmk5976@yahoo.com
