  1. You need a lot of tools to be a professional carpenter.  If you want to hit the ground running, get ready to max out a credit card.  Start with hand tools (levels, tape measures, hand saws, 9x11 sandpaper sheets), then start researching power tools.  First 2 buys should probably be a cordless combo kit and a random orbit sander.  Take a look at DeWalt...found this deal:

Then search for a sander...DeWalt, Bosch and Porter Cable all make good ones, and Festool makes the best.

That will give you a good base of tools.  Now you need to find some customers to help you pay them off!

  2. All of them. ha ha  Seriously you need to start out with some basic hand tools. Hammer, tape measure, square and a tool belt to carry your tools as well as fasteners. You can then add a chalk line, levels, chisel, nail set and the list goes on. After that you may look at power tools: corded, cordless and pneumatic. It never ends. Good Shopping

  3. the best tool is a brain!!

    good luck with that

  4. only a chainsaw. and little tools buy later
