What tooth count wood jigsaw blade should I use to cut through 3/4" solid oak without chewing it up too bad.?

  1. Use a fine blade and put a piece of tape on your cutting line top and bottom and that will help to prevent splintering.  


  2. Hi, I work at sears in the tool dept. and I am a wood worker as well. The finer the teeth the smother the cut.  With Oak one must go very slow!  We sell multi packs with diff. teeth counts. you may want to try a few, on a scrap peace.  If you don't have a scrap, go behind any large store and there is usually broken oak pallets for a  scrap. I hope this helps.

  3. I'm guessing you are probably cutting flooring or something that you need a god edge on. Try to use at least a 24 tooth blade or one that is specifically made for fine cuts. If you make a cut and it is still rough you can sand it to make it smoother.
