Obviously you learn about the laws associated with business, but in a basic Business Law class, what specific topics do you learn about? Do they go into corporations? Partnerships? Sole proprietorships? Employee rights? ethics?

  1. Corporations, Partnerships, Sole proprietorships are generally covered in Intro to business classes and not law classes.

In basic business law classes you take in college you will cover some or all of the following areas: ethics, social responsibility, the types of law and how they are made. You will learn about employment law: labor law, benefits, OSHA, ADA, EEOC. Contract law: agreement and sales, consideration, legality, capacity, consent, third party, ownership and risk. You may also cover discharge and remedy, liability and warranty: torts, negligence.

Don't expect these classes to be anything like law school but it is a great introduction to the issues if you are considering it.
