  1. It depends on what you mean by "somewhat close to Paris". There's an artificial lake in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, for instance, where I used to swim when I was little. (Read: many years ago.) There's also swimming in L'Isle-Adam.

    There are surely other outdoor areas in which to swim in the Île-de-France (I'd advise asking this question on Yahoo France- let me know if you need a translation). However, if swimming outdoors is not a requirement, there are countless "piscines municipales" (public swimming pools) in and around Paris.

  2. that would be paris there nothing around the paris area  you can take  dip in but the River Seine in Paris.
