What towns/cities R near Thorpe Park to go out drinking in?

Am hoping to go to thorpe park for my birthday in a few weeks on a saturday and was wondering what towns or cities are around the Thorpe Park area that a group of us could go out for a few drinks in the evening? It doesnt have to be that close actually as i live In plymouth so we wouldnt mind driving anything up to an hour in the Southwest Direction to stop of at. Any ideas wud be great thanks :)

    Go to Windsor ( it's on your way) and have a drink in Browns next to the River Thames - pretty lively, young scene, and a nightclub just around the corner for afters.
