  8. I wanted a camcorder when they first came out. They cost $1,000 and were HUGE!!! I was about 7 or 8 at the time. NO I didn't get it! We'd just gotten into the Polaroid craze. I can't complain about my childhood at home, though. I had the basics like a bike and I was very much loved. How about the toys you never expect like that enticing Chia Pet (that never grew)! :-)

  9. Lite Brite and I never got one. As a parent who bought them for my kids, I think I know why.

  10. a toy laptop...

  11. A Captain Kangaroo Easy Bake Oven.

I didn't get it .....The Captain said he didn't swing that way.

  12. A BASKETBALL YES I GOT IT

  13. Every single year I asked for a chemistry set.

Every. Single. Year. And I never got one.

  14. A Barbie doll.  My mother was against them.  Thought they were "vulgar" "not for little girls".  But when my dad took me to the store on my birthday and let me pick what I wanted out, you guessed it my first treasured Barbie doll, he had no idea! That was the start of a gorgeous slippery slope. He got a lecture when we got home from mom.  He refused to make me take it back, it was my birthday! After that her friends started arriving on birthdays and Christmas.  Back then kids didn't get toys unless it was Christmas or their birthday or a very big occasion.
