Question:

What track on the circuit is closest to you?!?

I just want to know who lives nearest to what track on the NASCAR circuit, so let's make it three parts.

1. Which track?

2. How far away is it (measured in time)?

3. How do you feel about it?

Me? I live a mere 15 minutes from Watkins Glen. (So close that I can stand in my front yard and see the jets fly in formation overhead about 60 seconds before they appear onscreen during the broadcast). Sadly, I've never been to a race there, because it's a road course. I'd prefer to live next to a short track.

  1. Atlanta - 2.5 hr. - good track

    Daytona - 5 hr - great track

    Darlington - 4.5 hr - great track

    Talladega - 5 hr - good track

  2. Texas Motor Speedway

about 30-45 minutes, but with all the traffic it takes like 2 hours to get there

I love that track, but I have to go to Bristol and Dega before I die(which I hope will be a while)

    Go Smoke

  3. Homestead. It's about 45 minutes away, 30 minutes if you take the turnpike.

  4. New Hampshire, about 2-2.5 hours away, good track but is terrible to get in and out of, best thing to do after the race is to tailgate for about 4 hours.

  5. I live about an hour and a half away from Homestead, but I am not as excited about Homestead as I am Daytona...

Daytona is a decent 3 1/2 hours away, but it is a great track.

  6. Infineon Raceway

    2 hrs.

Awesome track, 1 of only 2 road courses

  7. Pocono is about 1hr 15 min away.  I've been there several times but traffic is a nightmare.  I stopped going because of the later start time.  I like to get out of the track before dark.

  8. Michigan

    1/2 hour

    Its a giant party

And to smoken20 - The only way you could get to pocono or Bristol within a hour from Michigan is if you get on an airplane !!!!

  9. 1) Texas Motor Speedway

    2) 4 hour west of my town

    3) I'm biased but I really like TMS(except for the traffic), its a great race to see in person as any race is in person is.
