We need to catch a train to Long Island, as close as we can get to the Medford area, from LaGuardia Airport.

  1. I live on the middle, north shore of the Island and it takes me about 45- to 1 hour.

  2. No problem :

Take  a yellow cab from LGA to the LIRR station at 61St st & Roosevelt Ave in Woodside>

Regardlesss of traffic it shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes or cost you more than $15.00

The actual distance is around 4 miles

    Take the LIRR to Medford

The LIRR ticket office and Ticket Vending Machines >TVMs > are located one level above the LIRR train platform

Under no  circumstances do you buy a ticket on the train b/c you will pay an additional and hefty fee for doing that

    Note:

If the cabbie is really good and actually knows WTF he's doing he can save you the effort of schlepping your luggage up a  flight of stairs or two  by dropping you off on the LIRR platform level which is located on 62nd pl (?) just off of Woodside Ave

  3. Trains don't go to LaGuardia.  So first you'd need to take a bus or taxi to the LIRR.
