  1. take the train that is near the court house and once you get to the last stop at Lasalle St. it is about a 5 -10 minute walk to the park from there

  2. The one at the train station I believe it's called Metra.

  3. There is a single Metra Station in Joliet http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge... that has two trains where downtown is the final stop.

    1. The Rock Island - http://metrarail.com/Sched/ri/ri.shtml - has the  most stops  so it takes longer but it runs more frequently.  It drops off and picks up here http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=... at the LaSalle Street Station.

    2. The Heritage - http://metrarail.com/Sched/mhc/mhc.shtml - Runs less frequently, does not run on weekends BUT will arrive downtown 30 minutes faster than the Rock Island.  The Heritage drops off at http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge... Union Station.

The Rock Island is much closer to Grant Park - http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=W+...

  4. Take Metra.

  5. You can take the metro train. the ride from Joliet to LaSalle St. station in Chicago takes about an hour and a half.  the nearest location of the metra station in Joliet is 50 E. Jefferson St. (815) 723-2244. The last stop is 414 S. LaSalle St., LaSalle Station in downtown chicago.
