  1. King's Cross Thameslink

The Thameslink train service goes north to Luton (bus links to airport) and Bedford and south to Gatwick Airport and Brighton.

  2. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

  3. As you say North West London, I'm not sure that Thameslink as suggested by one answer is any help. There is a Southern service from Watford Junction, stopping at Harrow and Wealdstone which departs at 11 minutes past each hour. A cheap day single is £16.70 from the Junction. The trains also appear to stop at Kensington Olympia and West Brompton. There are half-hourly service from Willesden Junction to Kensington.

  4. Two options, if you are close to a First Capital Connect station then a Cheap Day Return to Brighton (after 9am monday to friday, with discounts if you have a Young Persons, Senior or Disabelled Travel Card) is the cheapest, or if you have a Network Card (discount card) then you can purchase a cheap day ticket with about 34% off the fare if you travel after 10am.

The other way is via Southern Trains running via Kensington to Watford Junction line (limited stops North of the Thames so check) and obtain a Southern Rover Ticket via the Internet only for £10 which will give you UNLIMITED travel to any Southern Station on Southern Services after 10am for the day (If there are more than 2 of you travelling then opt for the 3 for 2, or, 4 for 2 for further discounts).

If you are also using Southern Services check the website for 2 for 1 entry tickets to some attractions in Brighton, or if your going to use the busses in the Brighton / Hove area you can ask for the Brighton Bus add on for an extra £1 on the ticket which will give you unlimited bus travel around the town areas out almost as far as Worthing, Newhaven and inland to the Downs.

    Hope this helps.
