What training or specialist licence is required for driving skip wagons ?

My son wants to drive a skip wagon he already has a catagory C driving licence, do you know what else he needs ?

  1. The driver will only usually need the category of vehicle on licence. Any further training, such as Health and Safety will be taught once the person arrives at the company.

    Unless any fork lift trucks are involved, then the gentlemen would need another form of licence for it, whilst in public/private use.


  2. it depends on the weight of the skip wagon...i can drive a 3 car transporter on a std car licence cos its not over 7.5 tons.....

  3. Cat C will do the trick legally, though some employers prefer drivers with tipper experience.
