  1. There is no Train station in Shilong. You need to go to Guwahati and from there by Bus or car.

    Mumbai to Guwahati - Distance 2660 KM

    5645 GUWAHATI EXPRES starts from LOKMANYATILAK on Wednessday and Saturday at 07:45 hrs.

    Travel time - 52 Hrs.

    5647 GUWAHATI EXPRES starts from LOKMANYATILAK on Friday at 07:45 hrs.

    Travel time - 54 Hrs.

    The main interstate bus stand is located right next to Guwahati railway station. Buses run by Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) and Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC), ply every half an hour from Guwahati to Shillong. The ticket fares vary between Rs.30 to 100, depending upon bus class (ordinary, semi-deluxe and deluxe).

    Shared taxis are available from Paltan Bazar area. These are generally SUV sized vehicles (Tata Sumo & Mahindra Bolero) shared between 8 people. They take around 3 hours to reach Shillong from Guwahati.

    There is no railway track from Guwahati to Shillong - you have to go by road. Plenty of options, as you would just step outside Guwahati station. You can take a cheap bus ride, go for luxury coach, hire a cab, share a cab - or if your wallet allows take a chopper ride from the airport to reach Shillong.
