What traits do boys usually inherit from their fathers?

i mean like bone structure eye color temperment all of that.

i know sometimes its a toss up but is there a standard set of traits that boys get from their fathers?

  1. The Y chromosome.

    All other traits are a random mix of both mother's and father's genes.


  2. No, there are no standard set of traits a boy gets from his father.  It is always a toss up.  You can get your bone structure, eye color, temperment from either parent. Also, there would always be a question as to how much your temperment is hereditary and how much is due to environmental factors.   Now your sense of manliness you can receive from your father by his example.

    Most of your DNA, as well as your sister's if you have one,  is Autosomal which you get 50-50 from both parents coming down from all your ancestors.  So traits can skip a few generations.

    I might mention your question would be better on the Biology board.  Genealogy is not the same thing as genetics.  We trace ancestry with documents, records.
