  1. Welcome to the U.S.

From the Aberdeen-Matawan station take a NJ Transit train to NY Penn Station (33rd St  & 7th Av).  The NYC subway and bus system is available there.

The fare is $11.00 each way ($18.75 round trip during off-peak hours only).  There are weekly (calendar) passes $93.50 and monthly (calendar) passes $309.00 as well.

I have family that lives in the neighboring township (Old Bridge) and I take this train periodically.

The train station office has limited hours but you can buy tickets from machines on the NY bound platform.  It is important that you buy tickets before boarding the train.  Tickets purchased on the train will be assessed a penalty/surcharge of $5.00.

Here is an online version of the timetable.  You can pick up a paper copy at the station or in NY Penn.

Parking at the station is very limited during the week.  Weekend is better.  There is a fee for parking which is paid at machines located at areas near the station office building.

There is also local taxi cab service in the area to & from the railroad station at a reasonable price.
