  1. I have been a couple of times and all I needed was my passport and ticket.

I think your friend is winding you up.

  2. I´m from Barcelona.

You need a passport ,nothing else, the same as travelling to any other European countries.Don´t listen to what the friend of a friend said.I travel from Barcelona to Edinburgh and I can assure you don´t need anything else.

Just make sure the passport is not out of date,OK?

Have fun,and welcome to Spain...hope you have a nice time!!!!!

  3. Just your passport. travel there all the time, most of the time they don't check. Plus i think its 6 months left before it expires

    have a good time

  4. Passport only, but it must have at least six months left before expiry.

  5. just got from barcelona, all you need is passport but it must have at least six months left on it before it expires.

If you are going to live you may need more but I dont think so as both are EU countries.

Enjoy ~ the weather was fab.

  6. Only passport is required as far as I know. I went there 4 years ago with just that.

  7. spain is an eu country so a passport is all you need.

  8. What your friend is referring to is something that was started last year. It is API (Advance passenger information). Your airline who you fly with have the responsibility of collecting this information which are details from your passport. You will be asked possibly to supply this info in advance, but if you fly with Monarch they will scan your passport at the airport to gain the necessary info. It is an easy procedure and one should not worry about.

The police in Spain now require everyone travelling there to supply that info before they arrive. Failure to do so will result in the airline being heavily fined.

    I live in Spain

  9. just your passport is need and I usually carry a photocopy of my passport (and carry it seperate to my passport) in case anything happens and your passport gets stolen or you lose it.

  10. Your identity card. If you are  from a  country of    European Union,  you need only your identity card and if you don't have one, then your pasport.

  11. just your passport

  12. You will only need your up to date passport and your drivers permit if you wish to hire a car!

  13. I go at least 4 times a year. All you need is your passport to get into Spain. End of story.

Perhaps your friend has got confused or is giving you additional information. As an early posting said your friend may be recommending that you cover all bases. He may be talking about you getting a European Health Insurance card. This is a card which replaces to old E11 form. This card gets you free health care similar to the UK if you need it while in Spain. It simply proves you are entitled to Health Care in any EU Country. If you don't have one you have to pay. This is like a credit card and you get it free from www.dh.gov.uk/travellers

Another posting has talked about API (advanced passenger information.) This is not a form as such, it is simply information that your airline or ferry company have to supply to the Spanish before depart for Spain. It is basic personal information, such as name address etc. Most airlines get it when you book, if not they have an electronic form you complete as part of the booking process. If you don't give the information when you book they take it at the airport. The information is needed to try and combat terrorism. I am all for it, it they stop some nutter getting on my plane all well and good.

  14. You only need your UK passport. But if you want to drive there, take your lcience and the paper attachment too.

  15. No, you only need passport

Maybe your friend meant an E1, 11

    Free:-

You get that from The Post Office General, fill it in, and The PO stamp it for you.

It is to cover Health Care- while in Any EU Country, so you can have Free Health  care there,

instead of Paying out - then Claiming it back.

1 form covers ALL Your Family
