  1. There are all kinds of recipes online that you can get to mix-up treats and bake them for your horse!

  2. mints molasses surgar cubes sweet feed?

  3. I would suggest getting carrots and apples...

anything with too much sugar can kill horses, so be very careful.

  4. berry goods

    (about $12 at tack stores)

the best freakin horse treats. they smell amazing and if you're weird like me and try the berry's in them, you'll realize they taste good.

    my horses love them

  5. Some horses snacks would be watermelon, apples and licorice but be careful to not feed to much of this because of the sugar. There is also more healthy snacks like carrots which will even keep there electrolytes up, but a really cheap and easy treat that all horses like is a simple graze in a patch of grass. But be really careful about feeding horses stuff you are not sure about because horses will truly almost eat anything.

    Hope this Helps,

    Gothorses?!

  6. they enjoy sugar cubes. but they arent really great for them :/

  7. my horse likes the push pop popcicles...he likes to just eat them out of the plastic wrapper.....he also likes skittles and mostly any hard candy

  8. As for the watermelon, I've been told it can colic a horse if they eat too much.  i found you a good site:

    http://horses.about.com/od/basiccare/a/f...

and as for the search it originated from:

    http://www.google.com/search?q=horses+sa...

and heres a place that sells  a variety

    Hope this helps!

  9. Healthy and yummy:

Alfalfa cubes, sweet feed, honey oat granola bar, Carrots, apples (in moderation).

    Yummy not so healthy:

Sugar cube, peppermints, lemon drops and some like red lickerish.

Of course I used to work driving carriages in San Antonio and we had one guys horse that loved McDonald's burgers and Fry's.  I wouldn't suggest it.  It was his gimmick to get people to ride in his carriage.

Goes to prove horses will eat anything.  You just have to make sure that it is healthy for them.

  10. There's always the store bought treats. Every horse I know loves Stud Muffins.

Applesauce-I used to give this to my mare when she had to take medicine but beware of all the sugar

Peppermints-go out and buy a big ol bag of the cheapest pepermints you can find-he will love them and the crinkily sound they make when you open the wrapper.

If you have worked your horse after he cools down you can give him a little bit of gatorade in a bucket. Horses love the flavor and it helps replace electrolytes but give only in moderation due to high sugar

  11. Candy and sweets are really bad for their teeth.

However, we just got this pony who LOVES Sprite Zero.

    Another likes dog biscuits...

  12. ugh peppermints carrots haycubes apples and this girl i used to ride with fed her horse oreos and she loved them..lol.

  13. licorice, horse love it, mints they love them too, we had a horse at work that liked biscuts and gummy lollies too, willow leaves our horses pretty much de-leaf willow trees

it depends what your horse will like, offer him stuff and see what he goes for

  14. Feeding treats....

Yes, apples and carrots are the standard in yummy nutritious treat....but there are some that horses will really enjoy that are safe for your horses  consuption!

Have you tried any of these on your horse?

    +banana

    +grapes

    +grain bread

    +peppermints

    +watermelon

    +sunflower seeds

    +peanuts

    +sultanas

    +honey

    +dry pasta pieces

    +celery pieces

    +pumpkin seeds

    +museli or k time bars

    +rasberries

    +strawberries

    +anzac or oatmeal biscuits

    +peanut butter on toast

when feeding treats, it's always important to remember that a treat is just that - a special reward - and they should always be fed in moderation! You should also NEVER feed your horse anything that contains meat - EVER - and keep in mind that sharing people food with your horse (anything thats not on the above list) can really upset a horses digestive system - so be careful of what you give as a treat!
